redBus just announced the launch of BHIM integration on the redBus mobile apps to facilitate faster checkouts for users. This will enable users to pay on redBus mobile apps using BHIM UPI payments, and the feature’s already available on the latest versions of the redBus mobile apps.
BHIM is a NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) offering that allows users to make UPI payments. UPI is the latest in Indian fintech industry and taps right into users banks accounts for money transfers and payments.
With this integration, redBus is upping the user experience on their mobile apps. UPI payments do not require users to deposit their money into prepaid digital wallets like Paytm and Mobikwik wallet. Rather, BHIM works right inside your bank accounts and makes the fund flow across. UPI payments do not require one to pay extra charges for payments and UPI carries no commission for enabling these features.
A key takeaway with this integration – users needn’t remember their bank credentials and card information. Once you initiate a booking on the redBus mobile app, and click Pay with BHIM on the checkout page, you will be taken to the BHIM mobile app (if the app isn’t available on your smartphone, you will be asked to download the app at that stage) and once you have it, you can authorize the transaction by entering the BHIM mPin and the bank UPI pin.
