Ola cabs and Airtel join hands for a better business

Ola cabs and Airtel have joined hands in a strategic partnership to leverage each other’s powers to boost sales. The news comes off a joint statement issued by Ola cabs and Airtel which states that Airtel will be offering its enterprise suite to Ola cabs for business operations while Airtel will leverage Ola cabs’ thousands of driver partners.

On the customer front, users can see integrated systems that will be enabling Airtel users to use Ola Money on Airtel apps for digital payments while Airtel Payments Bank will be integrated into the Ola Money app too.

Airtel stores will have kiosk machines - for customers to book Ola cabs right at that point, with the support of Airtel store officers.

Ola cabs drivers to have Airtel 4G-powered smartphones at their work. This will power all operations for seamless, fast internet connectivity.

Ola cabs drivers will act as mobile recharge points for Airtel users to topup their mobile numbers on the go.

Ola Play, Ola’s in-house entertainment system found on Ola Prime and higher-end cabs, will now have a range of media content from Airtel’s suite.

This possibly comes as a first-of-its-kind partnership in India, and could possibly hold a huge threat to the US-born Uber cabs in India. On that note, it should be important to note that Uber has a partnership with Paytm wallet in India, for credit cards had been blocked from being used on Uber cabs without 2-factor card authentication by RBI. Paytm wallet is being used aggressively for Uber cabs payments by most users.
