Firefox is now available on Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick. The app is available for all users having a Fire TV or Fire TV Stick. Once installed, you can use Firefox on your Fire TV or Fire TV Stick to do anything that you would normally do with Firefox on your computer or smartphone.
Fire TV devices are home to over 500,000 movies and TV shows, thousands of app channels and Alexa skills.
You can now use Firefox on Fire TV for playing YouTube videos, or browsing the web to access thousands of content including social networks, news channels and more. Installing Firefox on Fire TV or Fire TV Stick is rather easy. It can be done in two ways:
- Launch Fire TV or Fire TV Stick and search for Firefox on the search box available at the top left, and install the app.
- Use voice search available on your Fire TV Stick to search for Firefox. Install the app as shown on the Amazon App Store.
- Search for Firefox on Amazon.com and use the Deliver to option available there to install the app on your Fire TV or Fire TV Stick.
“Bringing Firefox to Fire TV is an exciting new way to reach our users and serve up more of the full web to everyone,” said Mark Mayo, Sr. Vice President of Firefox. “Firefox has always been about bringing the web directly to people no matter what device they’re using. Starting today, we will be able to expand the already great Fire TV experience by enabling viewers to surface a multitude of web content — including videos — through Firefox.”
More: Amazon’s own Amazon Silk browser, made originally for Fire Phones, is also available for Fire TV devices now. Get Amazon Silk on Amazon.
The app is now available on 2nd generation or newer devices in the Amazon Appstore for free, aimed at U.S. customers, but available for anyone else that wants to try.
