Apple’s first original series ‘Planet of the Apps’ takes off. It is live on Apple Music and can be watched for free. The show features real-life iOS developers who pitch their app ideas to a panel of judges, who in turn evaluate the awesomeness of the idea.

This is Apple’s first go at video streaming and is likely to feature a major boost in Apple Music’s growth. With this launch, Apple is slowly taking on the likes of Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, which have millions of subscribers each ranging across various countries. It should be interesting to see how this launch shapes the growth of Apple TV which is Apple’s huge bet on dominating the television market.

In case you did missed it, Apple announced that Apple Music now has as much as 27 million paid subscribers across 36 countries at the Apple WWDC 2017. Related: Apple also announced a brand new home music product with HomePod.

Planet of the Apps will also feature celebrity judges such as Jessica Alba, Gary Vaynerchuk, and Gwyneth Paltrow. The shows’s available on Apple Music app or can be watched on the Planet of the Apps website. The show will feature 10 episodes. The first episode is live and spans for 50 minutes.
